This dataset contains horizontally averaged statistics from unvalidated Dutch Atmospheric Large Eddy Simulation (DALES) forecasts with a lead time of 24h. The LES is ran using the Ruisdael branch of DALES (version 4.3) and are forced by HARMONIE 43. The domain with a horizontal extent of 15 km x 15 km and vertical range of 13.5 km is centred around Cabauw. The version of the unvalidated Ruisdael DALES can be accessed here: https://github.com/dalesteam/dales. The runs have a horizontal resolution of ~76m (in both directions) and a vertical resolution decreasing with height from 20 m to 150 m. Homogenous land cover is applied to the domain. A ground-based UV-polarisation lidar was deployed to infer cloud droplet sizes and droplet number concentrations near the cloud base of cumulus clouds over Ascension Island. The measurements were part of the 2016 en 2017 ASCII campaigns to study aerosol-cloud interactions in the stratocumulus to cumulus transition zone of the southeast Atlantic Ocean. Measurements of uncalibrated attenuated backscatter were acquired at 30 seconds and 15 meters resolution.  +
